Directions for How to Use Snow™

Snow Whitening - Instructions for Use

Please read the frequently asked questions (FAQs) here:

Do not whiten your teeth for more than 30 minutes at a time, and you do not need the LED activating light to be on for more than 3-5 minutes at a time. NOT recommended for children under 9 years of age. Use for periods no longer than 14 days at a time, then restart after a break. If irritation (redness, swelling, etc.) occurs, discontinue use. Avoid swallowing, direct contact with the gums, and avoid contact with the eyes.

WANT TO KNOW HOW TO WHITEN TEETH BUT NOT SURE IF YOU ARE SUITABLE: Pregnant/nursing, poor dental health (decaying teeth, exposed roots, gum disease, you wear braces, you had recent oral surgery, jaw problems), allergic to peroxide. At home teeth whitening kits also have risks involved and it is recommended that you consult your dentist if you are unsure about anything and require further information.

IMPORTANT TEETH WHITENING NOTES: During the entire length of your at home teeth whitening treatment, you should avoid staining beverages as much as possible, including coffee, tea, red wine, colas, and citrus beverages, spicy food and smoking.

If you know you have sensitive teeth, you may want to use the desensitizing gel and some Sensodyne® toothpaste twice per day for the first 1-2 weeks before starting to whiten your teeth.

Everyone gets sensitive at some point, so just skip a couple of days of whitening, but then get right back to it. You can always order more sensitive gel from us.

===Light Instructions: you will need to unscrew the battery on the LED activating light and remove a small piece of plastic that protects the light battery during shipment.

NOTE: store your teeth whitening gel in the refrigerator for maximum shelf life. It is best to complete the gel within 2-3 months for maximum results. Take the gel out of the fridge at least 30 minutes ahead of time so it becomes room temperature.

Step 1: Wash the mouthpiece with warm water to prepare for use.

**Some kits come with ThermoForm™ trays, which are moldable to your teeth. You will know if they are moldable if you received two separate trays. If you received just 1 single, mouthpiece, that is our advanced version and does not require dipping in hot water and molding to your mouth.

Instructions for those that received moldable trays only:

Step 2: We recommend brushing your teeth or using the Snow finger-brush pads to wipe down your teeth. It is important for your teeth to be free of plaque to absorb the whitening agent. You do not need to wait after brushing and rinsing your teeth to whiten.

Step 3: Apply a thin layer of the “advanced serum (reg. strength)” whitening gel to the mouthpiece (top and bottom) with a focus on the walls of the mouthpiece, since this is where your teeth will touch the gel. You only need a thin layer of gel on the mouthpiece to receive optimal results. Wash your hands or anything else that comes in contact with the gel besides the mouthpiece.

*Some kits come with a maximum strength gel that may be used as long as your teeth aren’t sensitive. Most people choose to use the maximum strength sparingly, or once in a while for events, and usually only apply it to the teeth that show the most when smiling.

TIP: Kits come with a black applicator brush that you can use to apply max. strength or additional gel to teeth that are more yellow than others.

Step 4: The outer lips of the mouthpiece wrap around the LED curing light to hold it in place. It should look like this as long as you do NOT have the moldable tray option. If you have the moldable tray option, you have 2 separate mouthpieces and they do not attach to the light. Instead, you hold the light to your teeth for the first few minutes of whitening sessions:

You are now able to turn on the LED curing light and insert the mouthpiece in your mouth to hold for 10-15 minutes, depending your sensitivity. The LED light does not need to be on the whole time, as it reaches its full use in just a few minutes time to cure the gel on your teeth.

TIP: Apply a lip balm to your lips to avoid drying them out as you whiten.

Step 5: Remove the mouthpiece from your mouth and rinse your mouth to remove the remaining gel. Then, remove the mouthpiece from the LED curing light to wash the gel off of there too. Once it is dry, you can store the pieces of the kit in its traveling bag and ideally store the whitening gels in the fridge for maximum shelf life.

NOTE: If you have sensitive teeth, it is recommend you apply the desensitizing gel AFTER whitening your teeth. See “Desensitizing Gel Instructions” to proceed.

Desensitizing Gel Instructions:

Step 1: Remove Desensitizing Gel Syringe Tip

Grip the desensitizing gel syringe tip tight and twist the cap off as shown in the image to the left.

Step 2: Apply Blue-Colored Gel To Whitening Mouthpiece

Apply a string of desensitizing gel to the top and bottom of the mouthpiece.

Another option is dotting each tooth with the desensitizing gel; however, we recommend one long string because it ensures the gel gets in the crevices of the teeth.

If you only have one or several teeth that become sensitive you may opt to only apply gel to those teeth.

You should only use approximately 1/2 ml (1/6th of a syringe) of tooth desensitizing gel per section. Smaller mouths may require a little less.

Step 3: Insert Mouthpiece with Gel Applied

Insert mouthpiece in a forward pressing motion.

When inserting the mouthpiece on your teeth keep in mind that you want to avoid pressing all of the gel to the bottom of the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece should be inserted in a forward pressing motion. Not a downward dragging motion.

The forward press will cause the gel to spread (which is desirable) on the front surface of the teeth which is the portion of the tooth you will be whitening (that may become sensitive).

Step 4: Duration & Frequency?

The suggested use for the desensitizing application is a minimum of 10-15 minutes, directly following each whitening application. Additional applications of the desensitizing gel can be used multiple times throughout the day or night as needed.

It is best to whiten and desensitize just before bed, this promotes optimal results and makes it easier not to eat/drink immediately after applications.

NOTE: For extreme sensitivity issues, the desensitizing gel can be used directly before and after whitening applications. The use of the gel prior to whitening applications may slow the whitening results.

Step 5: Do NOT Rinse or Brush!

Spit out the remaining gel. Do NOT rinse your mouth following removal of the mouthpiece! The gel replenishes essential vitamins and minerals lost during whitening treatment, and reduces the instance of re-staining following whitening procedures. Constant saliva contact to the teeth is necessary for the finalization of this process. Refrain from the consumption of food or beverage for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Mouthpiece should be rinsed with cold water, dried with a cotton tip applicator and stored in case provided.
